Dr Callum | Lead Veterinary Dermatology Specialist | BSc(Vet), BVSc, MS, DACVDDr Callum hails from Sydney’s trendy Inner West and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as he can remember. While studying veterinary medicine at the University of Sydney, he developed a passion for dermatology through research into antibiotic therapy for mycobacterial skin disease in cats.After gaining experience in small animal practice across Canberra and Sydney, Callum completed his specialist training in veterinary dermatology at Colorado State University’s renowned James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital.Now based at the Veterinary Dermatology Clinic in Sydney, he brings deep expertise and infectious enthusiasm for treating all skin and ear diseases. He is also passionate about teaching and mentoring — regularly training final-year veterinary students, speaking at conferences, and serving on the ACVD Credentials Committee.Outside of clinic life, Callum enjoys time with his husband and rescue greyhound — often with a Negroni in hand.

Dr Dani Hoolahan | Founder & Principal | Board Certified Veterinary Dermatologist | BSc BVMS DACVDDr Dani is the founder and lead veterinary dermatologist at the Veterinary Dermatology Clinic. She graduated with honours from Murdoch University in 2007 and began her career in busy small animal practices across Sydney and Portland, Oregon.Her passion for dermatology led her to complete a specialty internship in Perth, followed by a residency at the University of California, Davis, within the renowned William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in 2013.Since then, Dr Dani has worked exclusively in referral dermatology practice and now leads a growing, specialist-led team dedicated to improving the skin health and quality of life of pets across Australia.
Dr Alex | Veterinary Dermatologist | BSc BVMS, DACVD
Dr Alex | Veterinary Dermatologist | BSc BVMS, DACVDDr Alex completed her veterinary science degree at Murdoch University in Perth in 2017. She returned to Sydney’s Northern Beaches to work as a small animal general practitioner before heading back to Perth to undertake an internship and ACVD dermatology residency. Alex joined the Veterinary Dermatology Clinic in 2023 and became a board-certified veterinary dermatologist in 2024.She enjoys all aspects of dermatology and has a special interest in allergic skin disease and immunotherapy. Her research on bee and wasp desensitisation in dogs was recognised with the ACVD Resident Research Award at the North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum (NAVDF) in Seattle, 2023.When she’s not in clinic, Alex is often outdoors — strolling the coast, swimming in ocean rockpools, or discovering new cafes with her pug, Olive. She’s also a reformer Pilates and hot yoga enthusiast, albeit an inconsistent one.

Caitlin | Accounts ManagerCaitlin has been part of VDC since day one, supporting Dr Dani and the team behind the scenes with all things accounts and administration. A devoted animal lover with five pets of her own, she’s here to help with any billing or account queries — always with a friendly, no-fuss approach.
Carlee | Nurse Manager
Carlee | Nurse ManagerCarlee has been a veterinary nurse since 2011 and joined the VDC team in 2019. In early 2022, she was promoted to Head Nurse and now leads our veterinary nursing team, providing both clinical and operational support across the practice. Carlee plays a key role in coordinating schedules, facilitating internal communication, and supporting both our team and clients.With a background spanning general practice, emergency, and specialist nursing, Carlee brings a wealth of experience and empathy to her role. As a pet parent to a dog with skin disease, she truly understands the challenges our clients face — and is always available to discuss your pet’s test results, medications, or care plan.

Reegan | Operations Manager | Executive AssistantReegan is an American transplant to Australia. She has been the behind-the-scenes operations queen at Vet Dermatology Clinic since 2019. It's been a rewarding journey working alongside our incredible team of specialists and nurses, dedicated to delivering gold-star care and keeping tails wagging.Outside of VDC, her life is all about family, tennis and pursuing a Masters of Management. She likes to keep busy balancing the fast-paced world of veterinary dermatology with the excitement of raising tennis enthusiasts and all about teamwork, both at the clinic and on the court.
Eliska | Veterinary Nurse
Eliska | Veterinary NurseEliska has been a veterinary nurse for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience across general practice, shelter medicine, rehabilitation, specialist referral, and emergency and critical care.She joined the VDC team in 2018 and now forms part of our travelling consulting team, supporting Dr Dani across regional clinics in Australia. Known for her calm presence and gentle touch, Eliska provides comfort, cuddles, and compassionate care to pets (and their people) during every consult.
Mikaela | Veterinary Nurse
Mikaela | Veterinary NurseMikaela grew up in the country town of Leeton and has been a veterinary nurse for over eight years. In 2023, she made the leap into specialist practice by joining the VDC team — and hasn’t looked back since.Mik is a dedicated and compassionate nurse who loves supporting both patients and their people through every step of their dermatology journey. At home, she’s pet mum to an affectionate Staffy named Pippa and a Beta fish named Dizzee. Outside of work, you’ll find her surrounded by family, friends, and the great outdoors — especially if camping is involved.

Dr Nellie | Veterinary Dermatology Specialist | BSc BVMS, Diplomate ACVDDr Nellie Choi is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and a registered veterinary dermatology specialist in Western Australia. She completed her specialist training in Pasadena, California, and brings a global perspective and wealth of experience to the VDC team.After earning her veterinary degree from Murdoch University, Nellie spent five years in general practice before pursuing advanced training in dermatology. During her residency, she was recognised with the ACVD Resident Research Award for her work on ear disease in dogs — research later published in the Veterinary Dermatology journal.Nellie combines the practical insight of a GP with the precision of specialist care. A certified Fear Free practitioner, she is deeply committed to creating positive experiences for both pets and their families. Her empathy, evidence-based approach, and clinical excellence make her a highly regarded and well-loved member of the VDC team.
Gabi | Veterinary Nurse
Gabi | Veterinary NurseGabi is part of our amazing nursing team based in Sydney and is known for her calm presence and keen attention to detail. She’s deeply motivated by helping patients feel better and loves nothing more than seeing them head home to their families with wagging tails and content purrs.When she’s not supporting our clinical team and patients, Gabi enjoys the outdoors, relaxing with a good book, and spending time with her Lab cross, Tilly, and her cockatiel, Jazz.

Diana | Veterinary NurseDiana joined the veterinary nursing profession in late 2021 and holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has a strong passion for caring for hospitalised patients and finds great fulfilment in supporting their recovery and wellbeing.She’s excited to continue learning, with a keen interest in dermatology and a drive to expand her knowledge to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals. Diana shares her home with two cheeky cats, Billie and Barry, and when she’s not in clinic, she enjoys reading, baking, and playing the guitar (often with a bit of singing, too).Grateful to be working in a field she truly loves, Diana is just at the beginning of her journey — and excited for what’s ahead.

Dr Taryn | Veterinarian | Dermatology Resident | BVSc Dr Taryn is a South African veterinarian who graduated from Onderstepoort University in 2006 — the country’s only veterinary medicine faculty. She began her career in a small animal clinic in Johannesburg before relocating to the Netherlands in 2008, where she shadowed board-certified specialists and completed advanced internal medicine training for general practitioners at the University of Utrecht.After seven years in Europe, Taryn returned to South Africa to work in a 24-hour companion animal clinic alongside a European board-certified Internal Medicine specialist. During this time, she also began developing her passion for veterinary dermatology, facilitating a small dermatology clinic.In 2019, she moved to Australia and completed a Small Animal Medicine Internship at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (Tuggerah) and Sydney Veterinary Emergency and Specialists. Taryn joined Dr Dani and the VDC team in December 2021.She now calls Australia home and is pursuing her goal of completing a residency in Veterinary Dermatology.

Dr Olivia | Veterinarian | Dermatology Intern | BSc BVScOlivia graduated from Veterinary Science at Massey University in New Zealand in 2019. She started off in regional mixed practice on the mid north coast of NSW. She then travelled closer to home and based herself on the Central Coast of NSW working in small animal general practice and emergency medicine, whilst also locuming to regional areas getting her large animal fix. After completing distance education courses in dermatology and having an allergic golden retriever herself, Olivia developed a strong interest in this speciality. Olivia has joined us at VDC as an avid intern to learn all things derm and has a strong desire to then pursue a residency. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys pilates, horse riding and spending time with her Fiancé Louis and pets Darwin the Golden Retriever, Juno the Australian Shepherd and Mila the Ragdoll X.

Dr Jess | Veterinarian | Dermatology Intern | BVSc (Hons I), MVSDr Jess graduated from the University of Sydney in 2009 with first class honours, completing a dermatology-focused research project that sparked her long-standing interest in skin health. She worked in small animal general practice across South Western Sydney and the Southern Highlands, and later completed a Master of Veterinary Studies in Small Animal Practice through Murdoch University.Following a break to focus on family, Jess has returned to clinical work and joined the VDC team as an enthusiastic intern. She is passionate about supporting pets and their owners on their dermatology journey and is excited to deepen her knowledge in this specialised field.
Georgia | Allergen Technician
Georgia | Allergen TechnicianGeorgia joined the VDC team in 2022 and plays a key role behind the scenes as our Allergen Technician. Based in Canberra, she is responsible for preparing and managing personalised allergen immunotherapy treatments for our patients. Her attention to detail and deep understanding of dermatology protocols ensure that each pet receives safe, tailored care.With a background in general practice nursing and a personal connection to dermatology through her own itchy Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Georgia is passionate about helping pets feel more comfortable in their skin — one vial at a time.

Jamie | Veterinary NurseJamie has been a veterinary nurse for over 10 years, beginning her career in New Zealand before making the move to Australia, where she now lives with her husband, son, and three dogs. She’s passionate about improving quality of life for animals and finds purpose in making a difference through compassionate care. Outside of work, Jamie loves anything ocean-related, camping adventures, snowboarding, and a good glass of wine.

Julia | AdministrationJulia grew up in Wollongong and holds a double degree in Commerce and Psychology, graduating in 2012. With a career grounded in customer service across industries like franchising, recruitment, and advertising, she found her true calling in the veterinary world in 2018 while working in a specialist and emergency hospital — supporting pet parents during some of their most challenging moments.After many years collaborating closely with the VDC team, Julia officially came on board in August 2024. She loves being part of a dynamic, compassionate clinic and thrives on creating positive experiences for both clients and their pets.Outside of work, Julia is into calisthenics, Stephen King novels, and bingeing Netflix with her husband and two cats.
Jacki | Administration
Jacki | Administration Jacki brings a unique blend of experience, curiosity, and compassion to the VDC team. With a long-standing career in emergency services, she has always balanced her professional life with a deep love for animals.Her passion for animal welfare has taken her around the world — volunteering in India to vaccinate and desex street dogs and cats, supporting vets in the Cook Islands, and working with wildlife including cheetahs in Namibia, elephants in Zimbabwe and Cambodia, and rescued animals in Thailand.JP holds a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science, Honours), with her thesis focusing on the role of cortisol in feline urinary tract disease. This research, conducted through veterinary clinics, led her into the world of veterinary nursing. She has since worked as a vet nurse in both general practice and emergency centres, including the former Canberra emergency hospital in Braddon, and completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies.Now based in the Snowy Mountains near Cooma, JP lives with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. Outside of work, she volunteers at the Little Life Cat Sanctuary in Cooma, trains at the gym, and is a proud self-confessed “cat lady.”JP is currently completing her Certificate IV in Animal Training and Behaviour and will soon be a qualified dog trainer. She’s also finishing a Diploma of Modern Languages (Italian) and hopes to pursue a Master’s in History next year — purely for the joy of learning.A passionate lover of Italian culture, food, and art, JP brings a spirit of exploration and dedication to everything she does — both in and out of the clinic.

She has since gained valuable experience working in a specialist hospital, supporting both emergency and critical care (ECC) and inpatient teams.With a strong interest in dermatology, Kayla is passionate about helping pets feel more comfortable in their daily lives. She finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of their journey toward healthier, itch-free skin.Outside of work, Kayla enjoys spending time with her dog Loui — especially at the beach — and caring for her horse, Precious. She is currently studying Equine Body Work and hopes to integrate this into her future career alongside veterinary nursing.
