Jacki | Administration Jacki brings a unique blend of experience, curiosity, and compassion to the VDC team. With a long-standing career in emergency services, she has always balanced her professional life with a deep love for animals.Her passion for animal welfare has taken her around the world — volunteering in India to vaccinate and desex street dogs and cats, supporting vets in the Cook Islands, and working with wildlife including cheetahs in Namibia, elephants in Zimbabwe and Cambodia, and rescued animals in Thailand.JP holds a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science, Honours), with her thesis focusing on the role of cortisol in feline urinary tract disease. This research, conducted through veterinary clinics, led her into the world of veterinary nursing. She has since worked as a vet nurse in both general practice and emergency centres, including the former Canberra emergency hospital in Braddon, and completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies.Now based in the Snowy Mountains near Cooma, JP lives with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. Outside of work, she volunteers at the Little Life Cat Sanctuary in Cooma, trains at the gym, and is a proud self-confessed “cat lady.”JP is currently completing her Certificate IV in Animal Training and Behaviour and will soon be a qualified dog trainer. She’s also finishing a Diploma of Modern Languages (Italian) and hopes to pursue a Master’s in History next year — purely for the joy of learning.A passionate lover of Italian culture, food, and art, JP brings a spirit of exploration and dedication to everything she does — both in and out of the clinic.
