Dr Callum Bennie BSc(Vet), BVSc, MS, DACVDBoard Certified Veterinary Dermatologist®Dr. Callum hails from the trendy inner west of Sydney and has wanted to be a vet for as long as he can remember. While studying veterinary medicine at the University of Sydney he conducted research into antibiotic therapy for mycobacterial skin diseases in cats – a research project that sparked his love of veterinary dermatology. After a stint in small animal practice in Canberra, he relocated back to Sydney and undertook an intensive small animal medicine internship prior to pursuing specialty training in dermatology at Colorado State University’s James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Callum is thrilled to be home and now working with the Veterinary Dermatology Clinic. He loves all aspects of dermatology and looks forward to helping you and your pet!
Dr Dani Hoolahan BSc BVMS DACVDBoard Certified Veterinary Dermatologist®
Dr Dani Hoolahan BSc BVMS DACVDBoard Certified Veterinary Dermatologist®Dr Dani graduated from Murdoch University in 2007 with honours. She worked in busy, small animal general practices both in Sydney, Australia and Portland, Oregon before completing a dermatology internship in Perth, Western Australia and then moving to the University of California, Davis to join the dermatology service at the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital as a resident. She completed her residency in 2013 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in the same year. She has worked in busy dermatology referral practice since 2014 and is the founder of the Veterinary Dermatology Clinic.
Dr Alex Moore
Dr Alex Moore Dr Alex completed her veterinary science degree at Murdoch University in Perth, WesternAustralia in 2017. She then returned home to Sydney’s Northern beaches to practice as asmall animal GP veterinarian before pursuing an internship, followed by an ACVDdermatology residency back in Perth. Alex completed her speciality dermatology training in2023 and has joined the Veterinary Dermatology Clinic team as a Registrar.Alex enjoys all aspects of dermatology. She has published a novel method of bee and waspdesensitisation in dogs, and was awarded the ACVD resident research award at the NorthAmerican Veterinary Dermatology Forum (NAVDF) in Seattle, 2023.Outside of veterinary life, you’ll find Alex outdoors; going for coastal strolls and bushwalks,swimming in ocean rockpools, trying new cafes to fuel her coffee addiction and spendingtime with her pug, Olive and fiancé, Fabian. She is working on her fitness and inconsistentlypractices reformer pilates and hot yoga.
Dr Nellie Choi BSc BVMS, Diplomate ACVD
Dr Nellie Choi BSc BVMS, Diplomate ACVDNellie is a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and a registered specialist in veterinary dermatology in Western Australia. She completed her specialist training in Pasadena, California, USA and brings a wealth of global expertise to the VDC team. She studied her undergraduate veterinary degree at Murdoch University in Western Australia and spent five years in general practice before embarking upon specialist training in veterinary dermatology.During her residency training Nellie developed her expertise as an accomplished researcher and her skill was aptly rewarded with the resident research award for the outstanding achievement in clinical research for dogs with ear disease. Her work has been subsequently published in Veterinary Dermatology journal.Nellie combines her experience in general practice with her specialist training to deliver a special brand of veterinary dermatology. She is strongly motivated by a desire to deliver a positive experience for both the patient and the owner. As a registered Fear Free practitioner, she has a strong empathy and compassion for pets as well as a deep respect for the human-animal bond. This in conjunction with her high standard of evidence-based practice and her clinical skill makes her an excellent veterinary dermatologist and a very popular member of our team.
Dr Olivia Williams
Dr Olivia WilliamsOlivia graduated from Veterinary Science at Massey University in New Zealand in 2019. She started off in regional mixed practice on the mid north coast of NSW. She then travelled closer to home and based herself on the Central Coast of NSW working in small animal general practice and emergency medicine, whilst also locuming to regional areas getting her large animal fix. After completing distance education courses in dermatology and having an allergic golden retriever herself, Olivia developed a strong interest in this speciality. Olivia has joined us at VDC as an avid intern to learn all things derm and has a strong desire to then pursue a residency. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys pilates, horse riding and spending time with her Fiancé Louis and pets Darwin the Golden Retriever, Juno the Australian Shepherd and Mila the Ragdoll X.
Dr. Taryn Ann Bonnette BVSc, Dermatology Resident
Dr. Taryn Ann Bonnette BVSc, Dermatology ResidentDr Taryn is a South African veterinarian that qualified from Onderstepoort University in November 2006, the only Veterinary medicine faculty in South Africa. After graduating she worked in a small companion animal clinic in Johannesburg.In August 2008 she relocated to the Netherlands where she shadowed a clinic of board-certified specialists and followed the Advanced Internal Medicine courses for general practitioners at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. After living in Europe for seven years Taryn returned to South Africa to work in a larger, 24-hour, companion animal clinic under the guidance of a European board-certified Internal Medicine specialist whilst concurrently developing an interest in Veterinary Dermatology facilitating a small Dermatology clinic. Upon relocating to Australia in February 2019 she completed an Internship in Small Animal medicine at the Small Animal Specialist hospital in Tuggerah and at Sydney Veterinary Emergency and Specialists before joining Dr Dani and the team in December of 2021. Taryn’s aspiration is to complete a residency in Veterinary Dermatology, and call Australia home.
Dr Jessica Wallace BVSc (Hons I), MVS, Dermatology Intern
Dr Jessica Wallace BVSc (Hons I), MVS, Dermatology InternDr Jess graduated from Sydney University in 2009, achieving first class honours by undertaking a research project in dermatology and sparking her interest in all things skin. She worked in small animal general practice in South Western Sydney and the Southern Highlands, and completed a Masters of Veterinary Studies in Small Animal Practice through Murdoch University. After a hiatus on maternity leave, Dr Jess has joined the VDC team as an enthusiastic intern, keen to meet all the beautiful VDC patients and their pet parents and help them on their skin journey.
Carlee - Head Veterinary Nurse
Carlee - Head Veterinary NurseCarlee has been working as a veterinary nurse since 2011 and joined the VDC team in January 2019. She was promoted to head of our veterinary nursing team in early 2022 and now oversees many areas of the practice including technical and operational support, scheduling and is our team liaison. Carlee has extensive experience working in general practice, as well as emergency and specialist nursing. Carlee is on call to answer any questions you may have and is available to discuss your pet’s test results, medications or appointments.As a pet parent of a dog with skin disease, Carlee understands the frustration and distress of trying to soothe their itch!

Eliska - Veterinary NurseEliska has been working as a veterinary nurse for about 20 years and has vast experience in all areas of veterinary practice including general practice, shelter and rehabilitation, specialist referral and emergency and critical care.Eliska joined the VDC team in 2018 and is part of the consulting team travelling to clinics throughout Australia with Dr Dani. Eliska is responsible for dispensing lots of cuddles, pats and calming advice during your pet’s consult.
Mikaela - Veterinary Nurse
Mikaela - Veterinary NurseMikaela grew up in the small country town of Leeton, and has been a vet nurse for 8 years.In 2023 she took the leap in specialist practice for the first time when she joined VDC, and hasn't looked back.Mik has an adorable Staffy named Pippa and a Beta fish named Dizzee.When she's not caring for our adorable patients, Mikaela loves to be around her family and friends, and can't get enough of the camping and the great outdoors.

She has perfected the art of the vet nurse cuddle and makes life easy for our dermatologists. With Hannah's reassurance, vet visits are much less scary for pets. You'll find her spending her time off at the beach, bushwalking and camping - which she especially loves doing with her beautiful super-pup Dante.

Julia - ReceptionJulia grew up in Wollongong and graduated from university in 2012 where she completed a double degree in Commerce and Psychology. Julia’s working career has been very customer service focused, spanning across diverse industries including franchising, recruitment and advertising. In 2018, Julia joined the customer service team of a veterinary emergency and specialist hospital. She found great purpose in helping pet parents during difficult times. It was here that she realised this is the industry in which she belonged.Julia has worked alongside VDC for many years and officially joined the team in August 2024. She loves her role and being a part of a dynamic and compassionate team.Outside of work, her obsessions include calisthenics, Stephen King novels and bingeing Netflix with her husband and two cats.
